Re-Screening Services: Replace the Mesh, Keep the Frame

ScreenerKing re-screening services replace worn, torn, or damaged mesh on your existing screen frames with new stainless steel wire cloth. If your frame is in good condition but the mesh is spent, re-screening saves you the cost of a complete new screen while delivering a screen that performs like new.

How Re-Screening Works

  1. Send us your frames: Ship your worn screens to our Houston, Texas facility. Include the mesh size and material you want on the re-screened frames.
  2. We inspect the frames: Every frame is inspected for dimensional accuracy, warping, corrosion, and structural integrity. If a frame is not suitable for re-screening, we will notify you before proceeding and recommend a new screen instead.
  3. Old mesh is removed: The worn mesh and old bonding material are completely removed from the frame and the bonding surface is cleaned and prepared.
  4. New mesh is installed: New stainless steel wire mesh in your specified mesh size and material (304 SS, 316 SS, or T-430) is tensioned across the frame and bonded with industrial-grade epoxy.
  5. Inspection and return: The re-screened frame is inspected for mesh accuracy, tension, and bond integrity, then shipped back to you.

When Does Re-Screening Make Sense?

  • Frame is in good condition: The metal frame ring is not warped, cracked, corroded, or dimensionally damaged
  • Mesh is worn or torn: The mesh has reached end of life but the frame still has useful service life remaining
  • Changing mesh size: You want to switch to a different mesh size on an existing frame to adjust your screening cut point
  • Cost savings: Re-screening is typically less expensive than a new complete screen because you are reusing the frame
  • Specialty frames: Custom or non-standard frames that would take longer to fabricate new can often be re-screened quickly

When Should You Buy New Instead?

  • The frame is warped or no longer dimensionally accurate
  • Corrosion has damaged the frame or gasket channel
  • The frame has been re-screened multiple times and is showing fatigue
  • The cost difference between re-screening and a new screen is small
  • You need screens faster than the re-screening turnaround allows
