Q: What is the advantage of mesh sides vs. solid sides? A: Solid sides force all liquid or fine particles to exit through the bottom only. Our all-mesh design allows material to exit through the sides as well. This prevents "pooling" and allows you to process larger batches much faster. It also is a more cost-effective option.

Q: Can this be used for dry sifting (kief, pollen, or flour)? A: Yes! The all-mesh design is superior for dry sifting because it allows fine particles to escape horizontally as you agitate or rotate the material, preventing the mesh at the bottom from becoming blinded (clogged) as quickly.

Q: How do I clean the mesh? A: Because it is 100% stainless steel, you can use high-pressure water, steam, or cleaning solvents like PBW (Powdered Brewery Wash). For fine microns (below 100), we recommend an ultrasonic cleaner or a soft nylon brush to avoid damaging the weave.

Q: Does the mesh side make the drum "flimsy"? A: Not at all. We use a reinforced top and bottom ring connected by vertical support struts. This creates a "cage" that protects the mesh while maintaining a high load-bearing capacity.
